Laser Hair Removal

What happens during hair laser removal?

Laser hair removal is one of the most advanced ways to destroy unwanted hair from nearly anywhere on your body. As the DiolazeXL handpiece is moved over your treatment area, beams of laser energy penetrate your skin and target pigments at the root of your hair.

This energy is rapidly converted to heat, which instantly affects the hair’s natural growth cycle. Since the hair is destroyed and can no longer grow, it sheds away within a couple of weeks, leaving you with seriously smoother skin.

Laser hair removal is most effective on hairs that actively are growing, a phase known as the anagen stage. The downside is that each hair on your body can be at a different point in the growth cycle at any given moment. In order to treat all hairs in their peak of growth, it’s important to undergo multiple laser hair removal sessions for optimal results.

Can I shave before laser hair removal?

Yes! One of the many reasons laser hair removal is so popular is because you may continue shaving as needed throughout your entire treatment process. This is much different than waxing, which instead requires you to grow out your hair at minimum to a quarter of an inch.

You can shave your treatment area up to 24 hours before a laser hair removal session at Lounge of Beauty Medical Spa. Once your treatment is finished, you can shave afterward if you want.

With each treatment, you’re going to see that you need to shave less and less frequently until eventually — usually, after about six to eight treatments — you no longer need to shave at all.

does hair grow back after laser hair removal?

Once your package is complete, the hair is gone for good. Laser hair removal with Diolaze, which is considered the “gold standard” for hair removal, destroys almost all hair in the targeted area.

New hair growth after laser hair removal most commonly affects women who are going through hormonal fluctuations, as with pregnancy or menopause. If you start noticing new hair growing back in your treated area, you can always come back for a follow-up Diolaze laser hair removal session.

how many sessions do i need?

Typically for laser hair removal, you need six total treatments to fully kill the hair follicle.  At your consult, the provider will be able to provide a specific treatment plan to achieve optimal results.
